John has over 35 years of training and teaching experience, and holds black belts in Tang Soo Do and Te -Katana Jujitsu. Featured and/or appeared in “Black Belt,” “Martial Arts Training,” “Impact” (UK), and “Inside Karate” magazines, some of John’s real life experiences are published in the book, “Bully-Proof Your Child” by Keith Vitali. As a Stunt Coordinator, Fight Choreographer, and Stuntman, John has worked with Jet Li, Yuen Cheung-Yen, Tsui Hark, Debbie Allen, Michael Peters, Vanilla Ice, Steven Spielberg, Roger Corman, and the late David Carradine. John also choreographed for the 2009, 2010, & 2011 Diamond In The Raw – Stuntwomen’s Awards, and appeared in the documentaries “A&E Biography: Steven Seagal” and “Bruce Lee: Memories of the Master.” He has also directed and field produced special feature documentaries for The Weinstein Company’s Dragon Dynasty label and for Cine-Asia/Hong Kong Legends. John is the author of “Fight Choreography: The Art of Non-Verbal Dialogue,” and is currently working on “The Fight Choreographer’s Handbook” (tentatively set for a Jan. 2013 release). As a Stand-Up Comedian, John was a regular performer at The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood for over a decade. In addition to working alongside great comedians like Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, and Sam Kinison, John has 3 national TV appearances to his credit, was the first non-African American comedian to appear in “BET’s Comic View,” performed all across the country as a National Headliner, and was L.A. Weekly’s Comedy Pick of the Week.
